Formed from the remnants of medical care, Death / Labor / Lust transforms discarded oxygen cords into a glowing tangle of survival and desire/need. The work evokes the look of neon, yet its material truth, the tubing once sustaining life, resists the polish of fluorescents. Nails pierce through the looping lines, bad braiding disrupting any sense of perfection, holding space for the brutal tenderness of labor, love, and loss. A meditation on what care costs the body, and words be describe/attach to life.
